5 Tips to Simplify Your Morning Beauty Routine

When you always find yourself scrambling to get up, shower, then put your makeup on just to make it to school or your office on time, some streamlining of your skincare and makeup routine may be in order.

Of course, that’s always easier said than done. Most of us don’t always wake up when the alarm goes off.

There are times too, when our skin just won’t cooperate, requiring us to spend more time prepping and concealing and doing everything necessary just so it wouldn’t be embarrassing to show our mugs to the world.

The good news is that there are ways to maximize your time (even if you don’t have a lot of it to spare) so you can go out feeling confident and ready to shine in public.

Tip #1: Get creative.

These days, there are multipurpose products such as tinted moisturizers and BB creams that allow you to skip the moisturizer, sunscreen, and foundation.

If you don’t have any of these products in your stash, you can try making your own tinted moisturizer by mixing your day lotion with your favorite foundation. If your day lotion doesn’t have any SPF, you could try a triple mix – moisturizer + sunscreen + foundation, blend at the back of your hand and then apply with a foundation brush or your fingers.

Top with a finishing powder and you’re all set.

Tip #2: Plan your getup the day before.

One sure time-stealer is changing into different outfits until you find one that satisfies you.

Granted, what you plan ahead of time may not be it but at least you don’t waste precious minutes staring at your closet and thinking to yourself how you have nothing decent to wear.

Again, if you don’t have a lot of time to spare, you should consider using the same bag so that you don’t need to transfer everything and run the risk of forgetting something.

To make it more fun, try to plan your outfit with your bag of the week in mind.

Tip #3: Practice doing fun updos.

Ponytails, chignons, braids – knowing something about these hairstyles will save you a lot of time if a blowout is out of the question.

Use your weekends to learn more about these hair styling tips (and there are a lot of them online) so that you can deploy them flawlessly when you need to. Messy buns are still on trend, so are topknots and other easy to do hairstyles.

You just have to find the styles that you can do easily so that you can still be pretty even if you’re in a hurry.

Tip #4: Try a lash conditioner.

This one’s a bit out of the box but when you see the results, you’ll realize that you can skip all that jazz – using an eyelash curler, putting on mascara or applying falsies just to have gorgeous peepers.

Sure, eyelash growth products are an investment but at least you won’t have to fake the big-eyed look with makeup since your new luscious lashes will do the heavy work.

So go ahead and flutter your sexy lashes because they are definitely worth it.

Tip #5: Smile.

Yes, your makeup may not be 100 percent perfect. Yes, you may have forgotten to put primer that morning. And yes, your hair may not land you a shampoo commercial but that’s all okay.

A smile costs nothing and it can brighten up your face more effectively than any highlighter or luminizer can. Smile just because you are alive and that no matter what happens, every day is still a blessing. Trust us, women who look and feel happy are more attractive than someone who has spent two hours doing her makeup but wouldn’t crack a smile.
